Our Churches
The parishes of Botley, Curdridge and Durley enjoy a variety of styles of liturgy and worship within the broadly central tradition of the Church of England. The spirituality of the parishes is centred on the Eucharist and we offer Communion before Confirmation to our children. The ministry team of
priests and readers works together across the three parishes. There is full support from the three churches for women in all areas of the ministry. Our parishes have an established tradition of training curates and readers.
All three church buildings are the only place of worship in their villages and welcome those of other denominations to share communion with us. Each church enjoys a breadth of musical styles, which in Botley includes a strong Anglican choral tradition. Vestments are usually worn and the sacrament
is reserved in Botley. We have close links with the other churches in the deanery, and with the diocese, and we actively support the deanery links with Hackney and Ghana. Until 2010 all three churches paid their quota in full, and Durley and Curdridge still do so. All three PCCs support the marriage of divorcees within the guidelines of the Church of England. All have:
• friendly, welcoming congregations
• a variety of services
• buildings and churchyards which are well maintained
• lay chalice assistants
• members of the congregation who lead intercessions
• servers and, in Botley, acolytes.
